Selecting DLC

You can choose Duquesne Light Company (DLC) to supply your electricity.

If you do not enroll with an electric generation supplier, then DLC will supply your electricity by default. DLC does not profit from supplying your electricity. This default rate is offered at the Price to Compare, or PTC.

How do I select the PTC?

If you are not enrolled with an electric generation supplier, you are already paying the PTC.

If you are enrolled with an electric generation supplier and would like to switch to the PTC, login to your My Account and go to the Supplier Information section under Account Settings. Contact your current supplier for information about the terms and conditions of your contract. There could be fees for terminating your agreement with your supplier.

What is the current PTC?

Changes in generation, transmission or distribution rates may occur throughout the year.

Where can I find more information about DLC’s Tariff?

Residential customers who elect to purchase their electric supply from DLC will be charged according to the residential rates (RS, RH, and RA) as found in Rider No. 8 – Default Service Supply of the Company’s Retail Tariff.

Business customers who elect to purchase their electric supply from DLC will be charged according to the small (< 25 kW) and medium (25 kW to < 200 kW) (GS/GM and GMH) commercial & industrial rates as found in Rider No. 8 – Default Service Supply of the Company’s Retail Tariff. Medium C&I customers using ≥ 200 kW, on average, in a 12-month period and Large C&I customers who elect to purchase their electric supply from DLC will be charged according to Rider No. 9 – Day-Ahead Hourly Price Service.

Additionally, if you select DLC to supply your electricity, the Company will provide and charge for transmission service. The Transmission Service Charges can be found in Appendix A of the Retail Tariff.
