If you can shift your electricity use, such as machinery use, appliance use, and EV charging, to off-peak and super off-peak times, you’ll have the greatest potential to save.
By shifting your electricity use away from peak times when grid demand is higher than normal, you're supporting a more efficient use of the power grid.
Your electricity supply rate will change throughout the day and will be lowest during off-peak and super off-peak times, such as overnight and all day on weekends.
No, only small and medium commercial customers with a monthly metered demand of less than 200 kW that have demonstrated a timely payment history are eligible to enroll.
After submitting your application, your enrollment will take effect immediately if you're eligible to enroll. If you're not eligible, the enrollment form will have a message indicating why.
If you're able to shift your electricity use, such as large appliance or machinery use and electric vehicle charging, away from peak times to off-peak and super off-peak times, including nights and weekends, this rate may be right for your business.
Time-of-Use Rates may not be appropriate for customers that cannot change the time of day that they rely on electricity, such as those with medical devices that require electricity or customers who are operating during peak hours. If you are a low-income customer, other programs and assistance may be available to help you to afford your bill. No, because they are both electricity supply rates. After you enroll, you may cancel your enrollment in the Time-of-Use Supply rate anytime and instead select DLC’s standard default service supply rate or an electric generation supplier rate. Once you cancel your enrollment, you may not re-enroll in the rate for at least one year.
To cancel, email EnergyShift@duqlight.com with your name, service address, and account number.
Net metering customers are eligible to participate in the Time-of-Use Supply Rate. Here's how it works:
The Time-of-Use Supply Rate will only appy to your supply charges and does not affect any other charges you may see on your monthly electric bill, such as distribution charges. These supply charges will be listed on the final page of your electric bill, under “Supply Charges,” and will be broken out by peak, off-peak, and super off-peak. For net metering customers, supply charges will only appear if your generation doesn’t fully offset your usage.
