Duquesne Light Company Recognized for Quickest Power Restoration Time in the State
Company recognized in PA Public Utility Commission annual Electric Service Reliability Report
PITTSBURGH – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) recently released its annual Electric Service Reliability Report, recognizing Duquesne Light Company for achieving benchmarks for restoration times and outage frequencies in 2016. The PUC report measures reliability of utilities throughout the state.
In 2016, Duquesne Light not only achieved its benchmarks, but also was recognized for restoring power faster than any other electric utility in the state and was second in terms of frequency of outages among the state’s large electric utilities.
“Ongoing investments in technology and infrastructure have enabled us to restore power faster and minimize the number of prolonged power outages,” said Mike Doran, Vice President of Operations, Duquesne Light. “We’re proud of this achievement and our passionate and dedicated employees who continually strive to raise the bar in delivering safe, reliable power to our customers.”
Duquesne Light achieved its PUC reliability benchmarks consecutively in every category for the past two years and is on track to again achieve the reliability benchmarks in 2017. View the PUC’s entire electric service reliability report here.
