Duquesne Light Sponsors Art Mart,
Artist Market at Three Rivers Festival
Showcasing the work of local and national artists, the 2006 Three Rivers Arts Festival drew record
crowds to downtown Pittsburgh, June 2-18. More than 100 Duquesne Light employee volunteers
assisted with company-sponsored activities throughout the event.
Visitors to the festival flocked to the Duquesne Light Art Mart on Saturday, June 10. In its
second year, the Art Mart provides children under the age of 18 with free space to display and
sell their works. A total of 90 young artists were on hand to make their creations – ranging from
oil paintings and clay sculptures to tie-dye T-shirts and jewelry – available to the public.
Duquesne Light also returned as the sponsor of the festival’s Artist Market, featuring more than
300 artists demonstrating their unique craftsmanship. Employee volunteers helped to staff the
company’s booth in the Artist Market on weekday evenings and weekends.
