Duquesne Light

CONNECTIONS Mini-Grant Program

Many employee volunteers participate in community service because they have a personal interest or connection to a particular cause. Duquesne Light is proud of the dedication of its employees and focuses a sizeable portion of its charitable contributions toward recognizing and supporting their community involvement. In addition to making general contributions to organizations as an event sponsor, the CONNECTIONS mini-grant program enables employees to secure funding for nonprofits where they are active volunteers. The program recognizes employee efforts by awarding up to three $500 grants each month to nonprofits nominated by those volunteers.

Below is a small sampling of nonprofit organizations receiving CONNECTIONS grants in 2005:

  • Girls Scouts of America
  • Beaver Falls Baseball Boosters
  • Vietnam Veterans of America
  • North Braddock Fire Department No. 2
  • Munhall Girls Softball Association
  • Central Volunteer Fire Company
  • Kennedy Township Little League
  • Penn Trafford Junior Wrestling
  • Make-A-Wish Foundation
  • Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation
