Homeowner Lauds Volunteers as ‘Special, Giving People’
In April, company volunteers spent the day renovating two homes in Wilkinsburg as part of the annual
“Rebuilding Together Project.” Through the event, Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh works in partnership with
the community to provide free repairs, renovations and modifications designed to enable low-income, senior
citizens in Allegheny County to live safely and independently in their own homes.
In a follow-up survey conducted by the nonprofit organization, one of the elderly homeowners rated the
quality of the work done by the Duquesne Light volunteers as “excellent.” “I have never felt such loving
and concerned kindness,” she wrote. “These were, indeed, special, giving people.”
