You must notify Duquesne Light that you plan to install a qualified, renewable energy generating system so that the
proper metering can be installed. Your system must be installed according to the Standards for the Connection of
Generating Facilities Which are Operated in Parallel with Duquesne Light Company ("Standards for Connection").
The Duquesne Light Company does not sell or install renewable energy
generating systems. It is up to the customer to purchase a system and have it installed according to the
Standards for the Connection of Generating Facilities Which are Operated in Parallel with Duquesne Light Company
("Standards for Connection").
It is a service option available from Duquesne Light for qualified
residential customers who install a renewable energy generating system that qualifies as an alternative energy
source, such as solar panels or windmills, according to Pennsylvania state requirements contained in House Bill 1203.
If you choose Net Metering Service, each month you will receive a credit
for the amount of electricity received by Duquesne Light in excess of the power we send you during your billing
cycle.
During each monthly billing period, Duquesne Light will credit
your account for kilowatt-hours received from your system in excess of the kilowatt-hours delivered by the company
to you during the billing period. At the end of the year, Duquesne Light will compensate you for any
remaining credits.

your electric service that deliver the electricity you need. As a customer, you have the opportunity to purchase
your generation services from other suppliers.
We support the right of our customers to choose the company they prefer to provide generation service.
Having choice means that you can shop around for the price and type of service that best suits your needs.
Choice means that you can make decisions based on what is most important to you.
Depending on the supplier you've chosen, an additional fee may be charged for the type of generation they supply,
such as energy from renewable resources, over and above the rate Duquesne Light charges for basic generation service.
Duquesne Light is required to offer a basic generation service at prevailing market rates, approved by the PUC,
for those who do not choose an alternate supplier. The company cannot offer discounts to customers who pay a
rate above the company rate, whether for renewable resources or for any type of service offering.
