Supplier Details...

Supplying electricity is the portion of the electric business opened to competition through customer choice. These prices are not regulated by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.

The bottom two boxes give you information about the charges from the company that supplies your electricity.

If you are participating in customer choice, your supplier will be the company you chose. If you are not participating in customer choice, Duquesne Light provides a dependable, reasonably priced source of energy through our agreements with regional electric generation suppliers.  We also deliver that power, in a safe, reliable way.  Your generation and transmission charges will be shown in the Duquesne Light Company Charges box.

The box on the left gives changing, special MESSAGES about your supplier account.

The box on the right gives you MORE DETAILS about the supplier charges listed in the Summary box on page 1.

  • "Current Charges" shows how much electricity you used this month (the kWh number from the Meter Reading Usage Information box
on page 1, multiplied by the cost your supplier is charging for each kilowatt-hour).
  • "Generation & Transmission" is the charge for producing and moving electricity.
If you chose to get a separate statement from your electric supplier, you will not see any numbers related to your electric use in this box. Instead, you will get a message that tells you to refer to the separate bill you receive from your supplier.
