Material Standards Engineer
|
|
|
Coordinate the company’s material standards efforts. Proactively review materials to improve reliability and reduce costs. Plan, analyze, study, recommend and prepare new/improved standards for design, construction, work methods, tools, equipment and material. Develop, update and maintain standardized material specifications to maximize buying leverage and reduce lead times. Evaluate and approve manufactures and suppliers of company materials and assist in the resolution of material issues with vendors. Assist engineering and construction departments in identifying substitute items during normal daily operations or in emergency situations. Prepare reports on material standards as required.

Planning & Reliability Engineer
|
|
|
Plan, analyze and study the capacity, operational and reliability needs of the electric distribution system. Develop short and long-range projects to meet the identified needs of the system. Perform short circuit analysis, evaluate and make recommendations on new or existing facilities for customer fluctuating load limitations and analyze load flows for sub-transmission and downtown network circuits. Provide the technical expertise to assist field personnel during construction projects and occasionally provides training. As required visits construction sites to inspect ongoing work to ensure it conforms to company and all regulatory requirements and standards and prepare reliability reports.

Provide the technical expertise to assist field personnel during construction projects and occasionally provides training. As required, visits construction sites to inspect ongoing work to ensure it conforms to company and all regulatory requirements and standards.

Typical work includes: Using PLS CADD, performing wire sag calculations, routing or rerouting of new transmission lines, recommendation of appropriate wire sizes, pulling tensions, underground conduit work and overhead tower investigation. Provide clearance studies for structures under construction within tower line right-of-ways. Provide the technical expertise to assist field personnel during construction projects and occasionally provides training. As required visits construction sites to inspect ongoing work and ensure it conforms to company and all regulatory requirements and standards.

Typical work includes: Fault current calculations, preparations of protection recommendations, schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings, fuse and relay coordination for substation and transmission lines and investigate questionable relay operations. Provides the technical expertise to assist field personnel during construction projects and occasionally provides training. As required, visit construction sites to inspect ongoing work and ensure it conforms to company and all regulatory requirements and standards and prepare reports for all Regulatory Agencies.
